SITE SELECTION COMMITTEE: A Site Selection Committee was formed and met on April 20th. Every Hamden-owned parcel was looked at and narrowed down to 10 feasible sites. After a quick review, the committee met again yesterday. That list was reduced further to 3 possible sites. A deeper dive will now begin. At this trajectory, it is expected a final location will be presented to the Legislative Council by early June. A vote will then be needed to start the bidding process.
CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT: The Greater Hamden Chamber of Commerce will hold a Charity Golf Tournament this Monday at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford. Hamden’s Animal Shelter Gift Fund along with The Animal Haven, are this year’s recipients. Details including a link to register, are at GimmeShelterHamden.org/MadrasOpen.
SAVE THIS DATE: There will be a family-friendly daytime celebration on July 1st called Gathering of the Paws. The event will be at Twelve Percent Brewery & Coffee Bar and will feature several musical acts, food trucks, vendors, Hamden & North Haven Animal Control, as well as area rescue groups. Proceeds from this event will further augment Hamden’s Animal Shelter Gift Fund. We will officially start promoting this after Monday’s golf outing so stay tuned…
ANIMAL SHELTER GIFT FUND: Officials have been able to measure enthusiasm for this project by the money donated to the Animal Shelter Gift Fund.
