Our kick-off fundraiser was a 5-7PM Happy Hour at Weed’s Cafe on Friday, January 27, 2017. This was promoted by word-of-mouth and e-mail. No press or social media, or fliers were used. 80 people showed up and $852. was raised for Hamden’s Animal Control Gift Fund.
Gimme Shelter would like to thank Savile Row for donating their time, Joe Weed for donating the space to hold the event and Kathy & Shaleen for serving our group efficiently & professionally. This was a zero-expense fundraiser. The $852 collected that evening was presented to Deputy Chief John Cappiello on February 15th for deposit into the Animal Control Gift Fund.
