A Site Selection Committee for the first-ever Hamden Animal Shelter was formed and then met today. Every Hamden-owned parcel was looked at. Locations were narrowed down to less than 12 possible sites. The next step is to bring in the Town’s Attorney & Engineer to do a quick review. Parcels deemed protected lands, watersheds, etc…. will then be eliminated. That should take up to two weeks. From there, a deeper dive will commence for the remaining available sites. Gimme Shelter Hamden expects a location to be named sometime around mid-June. “Loose lips sink ships,” so that’s all we’re willing to say at this point in time, except – Thank you to those who never lost faith.
